Traditional Basmati Rice Banno is carefully selected, long-grain rice with a classic, slightly nutty aroma and a fluffy, light texture when cooked. Aging and gentle polishing ensure that the grains noticeably elongate after cooking, remaining separate — perfect for biryani, pulao, aromatic curries, grilled meats and fish, vegetables, tofu, and elegant additions to everyday meals. Preparation: rinse until the water runs clear, optionally soak for 20–30 minutes; cook in a ratio of about 1:1.5–1.75 (rice:water) on low heat covered for 12–15 minutes, let stand for 5–10 minutes and fluff with a fork (in a rice cooker, select the white/basmati rice program). It pairs excellently with cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves, and ghee, enhancing the flavor of sauces without thickening them. Great also for rice salads with herbs and lemon and for meal prep — it retains its fluffiness after reheating. Store in a dry, cool, and shaded place, in an airtight container, away from moisture and strong odors.
