Description

Bird's Custard Powder is a popular cream with a silky and velvety consistency. It is a powder consisting mainly of corn flour and vanilla flavor. It does not contain eggs or dairy products, as is the case with the original custard. To prepare custard, mix powder with milk and sugar and then cook on the stove until it thickens. Ready custard can be served warm or cold, as an addition to various desserts, such as pudding, cakes, pancakes or fruit. Bird's Custard Powder is appreciated for its convenience and ease of preparation and for its rich vanilla flavor. Maize Starch, Salt, Flavouring, Colour (annatto) Measure a portion of the Bird's Custard Powder and add it into a bowl with sugar. The amount will depend on how much cream you want to make, so check the instructions on the package for the recommended amount. Add a small amount of milk (measured from the total amount). Mix until smooth, making sure there are no lumps. In a pot, heat the remaining milk over medium heat until it begins to boil. Stir constantly to prevent burning. Gradually pour the diluted powder into the milk while stirring constantly until it thickens to your desired consistency. This process usually takes a few minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and set the pudding aside for a few minutes to cool. The pudding will thicken as it cools.
