Description
Meshruk Medina Dates Namazi Trading are dates intended for direct consumption as well as wide culinary use. Dates are the fruit of the date palm Phoenix dactylifera and have been an important element of the culinary tradition of the Middle East, Arabian Peninsula, and North Africa for centuries, and today they are popular worldwide. The term Medina Dates refers to the name Medina, but the exact place of cultivation and country of origin of a specific batch should not be determined solely based on the trade name – the decisive factor is the country of origin label found on the packaging. Dates are characterized by a naturally sweet taste, fruity aroma, and flesh whose texture can vary from softer and juicier to firm and slightly chewy, depending on the variety, degree of ripeness, and method of processing and storage. Their color can include various shades of brown, and natural differences in color, size, and texture of individual fruits are typical for this type of product. Dates can be eaten alone as a sweet snack, served with tea or coffee, or used as an ingredient in breakfasts and desserts. They pair well with nuts, almonds, pistachios, sesame, yogurt, milk, cereal flakes, and other dried fruits. When chopped, they can be added to oatmeal, muesli, granola, cakes, cookies, bread, and homemade bars. Crushed dates can be used to prepare pastes and fillings used in Middle Eastern baked goods and desserts. Dates are also traditionally consumed during Ramadan, including when breaking the fast at iftar. Their naturally high sugar content is responsible for their intensely sweet taste, so the term "naturally sweet" should not be equated with a sugar-free product. Exact information about any added syrup, glucose, preservatives, or other ingredients should always be checked in the ingredient list of the specific package. Depending on the product, dates may be offered with or without pits, so this feature should not be assumed without checking the label. If the product contains whole fruits with pits, the pit should be removed before consumption or further use. A natural light coating resulting from sugar crystallization may sometimes appear on the surface of the dates; it should be distinguished from mold based on appearance, smell, and the overall condition of the product. Meshruk Medina Dates can be used both in simple snacks and in traditional and contemporary recipes, and their sweet profile allows them to be used in many dishes without the need for additional sweetening.
